Film Review — The Amateur
Rami Malek’s performance makes up for an otherwise run-of-the-mill spy thriller
I’ve not read the Robert Littell novel upon which this is based. Nor have I seen the Charles Jarrott 1981 adaptation (or if I have, I don’t remember it). Therefore, I had no preconceptions going into this fresh spin on spy thriller The Amateur other than a trailer that, once again, reveals far too much.
