I came away unmoved and disappointed, even while I loved the lush scenery and the forest witchery stuff. I agree Jessie Buckley did a good job. She always does. I didn’t believe in Mescal’s Shakespeare or the grief, really. It all seemed at a remove, somehow.
I’m not familiar with the soundtrack you mention but what bugged me was the really poor sound quality. Several times I missed what was being said, muffled or taken over by other sounds. Also Mescal’s earring… maybe Shakespeare wire one, but it seemed incongruous.
Poor sound quality? It was crystal clear where I saw it (Cineworld Plymouth). Sorry you were disappointed. For me, it worked, until that bit of scoring crops up at the very end.
Not seen it yet, but intend to I’ll come back to read your review afterwards. But have you seen the reel of Jane Fonda endorsing the film to the absolute hilt?
Hmmm…

Thanks, as always for giving us your take.

I have not seen that, no. I hope you enjoyed the film. :)
